DESCRIPTION

K files are the universal standard for canal negotiation, shaping, and recapitulation of root canal systems. They are generally used with a quarter turn “watch-winding” motion and vertical pull. Dentsply offers a comprehensive and affordable hand file range specifically designed to offer clinicians simplicity and efficiency. The cross sections of the Dentsply K files are square from sizes 6 - 40 and triangular from size 45 onwards

Use instruments in sequence, never skip sizes.
Never force an instrument inside the canal.
Never use an instrument that is dull or that shows signs of rust or wear (untwisting, burnished areas, etc.) discard used instruments frequently, especially in small sizes.
Proper irrigation and recapitulation has to be done before using the next higher number file.
